Abstract

Evidence-based medicine is a crucial component of medical decision-making and calls for an awareness of and application of scientific methodologies and ideas. The research methodology is a structured process that involves selecting a study design, creating questionnaires, collecting data, analysing it, interpreting it, and performing evaluation processes in order to identify answers to a problem. So, the purpose of the current study was to compare Indian and international undergraduate students' exposure to different research approaches as well as their desire and participation in research projects. A questionnaire was sent to roughly 300 Indian and international undergraduate students using a google form link. In addition to inquiries on new discoveries or updates, the questionnaire asked about undergraduate students' readiness to participate in research initiatives and their willingness to do so both in India and abroad. A conventional process was used to validate the survey. After carefully reading each question, the survey population was instructed to complete the online Google form. Results were gathered using Google Forms, and SPSS version 23 was used to analyse the data. According to the survey's findings, almost 90% of respondents are aware that exposing undergraduate students to the world of research is beneficial for their academic development. In the present scenario, it is evident that 20.7% prefer surveys, 15.3% prefer original study, 12% prefer clinical trials, 30.7% prefer to review and 21.3% are not interested in research among Indian students. International students preferred participating in 30% review, 20% participants responded to the survey, 12% Clinical trial, and 15% original study. This study should not only compare Indian and international research techniques, but it should also look into how students fail to study and utilise research methodology tools during their academic careers and later in their professional lives.
