Abstract

In this paper we discuss a new method for direct comparison between L2,3 and L1 EXAFS spectra. A detailed analysis of the basic EXAFS formula leads to a simple relationship between the EXAFS signals at the L3 and L1 edges that includes the total phase-shift difference for the two absorption processes. This relation has been successfully used to perform the comparison of theoretical and experimental data of barium in the cubic BaF2 system.
