Abstract
DC-DC converters are widely used in place of voltage divider circuits to regulate voltage from renewable energy sources. In order to select a converter for a particular application computation of Mean Time Between Failure and efficiency of the converter becomes important. In this paper three Non- Isolated DC-DC converters are considered for analysis. Converter efficiency and Mean Time Between Failure for three converters namely Cuk, SEPIC and Zeta are compared. Also, comparative analysis for Zeta converter using N channel and P channel MOSFET is performed. The simulation is performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation results are obtained for power from the PV panel, power from the converter, power loss in MOSFET and power loss in the converter. Also, plot of efficiency and MTBF of the converters are shown and tabulated.
