Abstract

Input signal connection circuits for a backward-wave tube with resonant reflector have been compared. It has been shown that the supply of radiation from an external source through an input cavity is more efficient than the supply from the collector side of the device. This advantage is reflected in higher linear gain of the input signal and lower power required for synchronization of the backward-wave tube self-oscillator by the external source.
