Abstract

Effects on volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds in water have been studied by comparison of three sampling methods, which were applied in typical groundwater contaminated site. The results show that depth-set and on-site technique of sampling is stable and better than both bailer sampler and peristaltic pump in gathering VOCs in water. The extent of loss on VOCs during collecting samples is much stronger caused by negative pressure than contacting with atmosphere outside, turbulent flow is the weakest aspect on it. It also reveals that when gathering weak corrosive water samples during a short time, the influence of dissolving chemicals from sample collectors on being tested components is negligible?which are made by stainless steel, polyfluortetraethylene and silica gel materials separately.
