Abstract
Uno de los principales problemas que enfrentan las Entidades Prestadoras de Servicios de Saneamiento (EPS) tanto en el Peru como en otros paises es el hurto de agua potable. Una de sus formas mas comunes ocurre despues del corte por falta de pago, cuando sus usuarios rehabilitan ilegalmente este servicio. Para prevenir la recurrencia de esta mala practica se realizo una investigacion comparativa entre las diferentes tecnicas de corte del servicio de agua potable (CSAP), llegando a conclusiones que permitieron seleccionar la tecnica mas conveniente acorde con las diversas condiciones locales de las EPS. El presente trabajo se basa en la presentacion de resultados respecto a cortes drasticos, los cuales se aplican cuando el corte simple fue previamente abierto de forma ilicita.
