Abstract

A theoretical and experimental comparison of Coherent Antistokes Raman Scattering (CARS) and Raman Induced Phase Conjugation (RIPC) techniques is carried out in respect of practical conditions. In most cases the RIPC techniques are much more sensitive to deviations of the phasematching conditions than CARS, from which follows that for RIPC much higher degrees of accuracy for the alignments and the optical homogeneity are necessary.
