Abstract

Objectives To compare the application value of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and enhanced CT(CECT) in the diagnosis of renal tumors of less than 3 cm.Methods 54 cases of patients with renal parenchymal tumor admitted in our hospital from January,2010 to January 30,2013 were selected, and all patients were given CEUS and CECT examination. The enhanced intensity, enhanced evenness, pseudocapsule sign, enhance extinction time of the two examination methods were observed, and accuracy rate was compared. Results CEUS significant characteristics showed that 42 cases had significant intensity,31 cases had pseudocapsule signs and 39 cases had appeared enhancement pattern as fast-in and slow-out,and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05).The accuracy (92.59%) of CEUS were significantly higher than those of CECT (77.78%),and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusions CEUS has different imaging findings with CECT in aspects of renal tumor enhanced intensity, pseudocapsule sign and enhance extinction. The sensitivity and accuracy of CEUS for kidney cancer diagnosis are higher than those of CECT.
