Abstract

The present study aimed to compare corporate product market competition in different industries. For this purpose, the data relevant to 67 companies from 2005 to 2013 was analyzed in a comparative study. Analysis of variance was used to test the research hypotheses. The results showed that Herfindahl- Hirschman Index was identical in different industries. In addition, the results of Tukey test on the first sub hypotheses showed significant differences between various industries. Tukey test results indicated that the studied companies in various industries can be classified into four homogenous categories in terms of Herfindahl- Hirschman Index. Therefore, the hypothesis claiming a significant difference in Herfindahl- Hirschman Index between different industries cannot be rejected. The results of analysis of variance on the second sub-hypothesis showed that Lerner Index was not identical in different industries. Moreover, the Tukey test results on significant differences between various industries indicated that the studied companies in various industries can be classified into four homogenous categories in terms of Lerner Index. Therefore, the hypothesis claiming significant differences in Lerner index between various industries cannot be rejected. Keywords: Corporate Product Market, Competition, Different Industries.
