Abstract

COPD is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among patients with respiratory diseases. It comprises a major burden of patients visiting any hospital or ICU. The GOLD (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease) has given guidelines for diagnosing and treating COPD.COPD is characterized by persistent airflow limitation. GOLD categorizes COPD patient groups as per CAT/ mMRC score and ER visits.
