Abstract

The principal aim of the current research was to compare the effectiveness of communication skills training and problem-solving on marital disenchantment and the life quality of women with marital discord. Research was carried out by the multiple- group testing method, being of the pretest- post test type, along with the control group. The statistical population of the present research consisted of the entire women with the marital disagreement who referred to counseling centers of the Tonekabon city (Iran), numbering 237 individuals. In order to select the sample group, the women who bad high marital disappointment and low life quality were selected using the screening method and then, 45 individuals were selected as the sample simply and randomly who located in three groups of test (two groups) and control (one group) the tools used in this research include: 1- Pinze marital disappointment questionnaire having 21 seven- choice questions. 2- Life quality questionnaire which had 27 five – choice questions being of the likert type. In order to collect the required data and information's, the library and field methods were used and the methods of the descriptive and perceptive statistics were used to analyze the obtained data and information which, in the section of the perceptive statistics, the test of Multivariate analysis of covariance (Mancova) was used to test the hypotheses. The results obtained from the research showed that: 1- The communication skills training and problem-solving are effective on the marital disappointment and life quality of the women with the marital disputes. 2- The communication skills training are effective on the marital disappointment of the women with marital disputes. 3- The communication skills training are effective on the life quality of the women with the marital disputes. 4- The problem-solving skill training is effective on the marital disappointment of the women with marital disputes. 5- The problem-solving training is effective on the life quality of the women with the marital disputes.
