Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effects of microscrew implant and headgear in anchorage control Methods Thirty cases with maxillary protrusion were selected,and randomly divided into two groups,using microscrew implant and headgear respectively.Cephalometric measurements before and after the treatment and Pancherz's analysis was used to evaluate the changes before and after the treatment.the total treatment time was recorded.Resuits Cases with implant changed more evidently than those with headgear in overjet,molar relationship and position of upper ineisor(P<0.05);The position of upper molar was more stable and the treatment time was shorter in implant group,compared with headgear group(P<0.05).Conclusions Microscrew implant could provide better anchorage control than headgear.
