Previous studies have established that primary PCI as a mode of reperfusion in STEMI has better outcome compared to fibrinolytic therapy. In the past, studies have shown that admissions during weekend/off hour is associated with a higher mortality rate. Identification of the “off-hour” effect on the mode of reperfusion therapy and mortality in STEMI patients may provide room for service improvement.
