Abstract

Background and Aims: LDL-C represents the primary lipoprotein target for reducing cardiovascular risk. Friedewald equation has certain limitations especially with high triglycerides and low LDL-C levels. The aim of our investigation is to compare the calculated Friedewald and Martin/Hopkins LDL-C levels in the range below 1.0, 1.4 and 1.8 mmol/L, respectively in atherogenic dyslipidemia condition, and to evaluate the variation in calculated remnant cholesterol.
