Abstract

The Fontan operation is the final common surgical pathway for patients with single ventricle physiology. We report on a single institutional experience of medium-term follow-up of a consecutive series of 51 patients who had undergone either an intracardiac lateral tunnel (ILT) or an extracardiac conduit (EC) Fontan completion, and to compare the incidence of early and late arrhythmias in the two groups. Early postoperative arrhythmias were defined as those occurring within 30days of Fontan completion, while late arrhythmias were defined as those occurring at >6months following Fontan completion.
