Abstract
Sixty-three sera were examined by an Immunosorbent Agglutination Assay (ISAGA), an Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test (IFAT) and an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for the presence of anti-Toxoplasma IgM. The ISAGA assay compared favourably with the conventional assays and was found to be relatively simple to perform, without the need for elaborate equipment, often associated with other serodiagnostic tests. However, one would caution the use of the ISAGA assay in isolation for the diagnosis of acute toxoplasmosis in view of its high sensitivity.
