Abstract

Comparison of anaerobic treatment with aerobic treatment is presented in this chapter. Aerobic processes take place in the presence of air and anaerobic treatment processes takes place in the absence of air. The final products of organic assimilation in anaerobic Waste Water Treatment Plant are methane, carbon dioxide gas and biomass. The anaerobic treatment is now becoming a viable alternative due to its general advantages over aerobic processes.
