Abstract
1. 1. α- and β-Adrenergic agonists as well as insulin stimulate 3-0-methyl- d-glucose efflux by the perfused rat heart and increase d-glucose inhibitable cytochalasin B binding by isolated sarcolemma. 2. 2. α- and β-Agonists like insulin increase V max for 3-0-methyl- d-glucose efflux and increase B max for cytochalasin B binding. 3. 3. The effects of α- and β-agonists are totally Ca 2+-dependent whilst those of insulin appear to be only partly Ca 2+-dependent.
