Abstract

Introduction/Objective: Long term care facilities (LTCFs) can select, enrich and serve as reservoirs for antibiotic resistant bacteria. Although antibiograms have been used in hospitals to guide caregivers in choosing appropriate antibacterial therapy, an antibiogram specifically generated from a long-term care facility has rarely been obtained. The objective of this study was to construct an antibiogram for a specific long-term care facility and compare it to that of the associated hospital that receives its patients.
