Abstract

Carbon nano-tubes as well as nano-composite consisting of carbon tubes and nano-gold particles after modification of aromatic substituent were proposed as carriers to immobilize myoglobin molecules for preparation of Myoglobin based electrodes. Feature of morphology, surface structure for nano-materials with Myoglobin integration, configuration of redox sites in protein and physic-properties of coupled Myoglobin molecules were characterized and investigated by various technical means. Results from experiments showed that electro-active groups of nano-materials with entrapped Myoglobin demonstrated rapid mass transferring. Interaction between protein and substitutional groups grafted on nano-materials would increase the active energy of electron transferring and transformation of H2O2.
