Abstract

Two least square techniques, Bistatic-Range-based (BR-based) method and Range-Difference-based (RD-based) method, are presented to find the location of a target in multistatic passive radar. Also, the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the location estimates is obtained for both of them in this issue. For these two presented techniques, we see that the performance of the BR-based technique is quite better than the RD-based technique in the simulation results. For this reason, using the BR-based technique in multistatic passive radar is recommended. Furthermore, the BR-based method required one less receiver than the RD-based method for finding the target position uniquely. The simulation results also show that the placement is important to decrease the error of target position estimation.
