Abstract

In this paper, we present two comparative techniques for determination of the Shafranov parameter in an IR-T1 tokamak: a poloidal flux loop and magnetic probe techniques. For this purpose, two flux loops were designed and installed on the outer surface of the IR-T1 tokamak chamber, and then a poloidal flux was obtained from them. From the difference of poloidal fluxes on the high-field and low-field sides, the Shafranov parameter was measured. To compare the results, four magnetic probes were designed, constructed and installed on the outer surface of the IR-T1, and again the values of the Shafranov parameter were obtained independently. Experimental results were compared and discussed.
