Abstract
In this paper, the comparison between simulation and experimental results of a fuel cell that is powered a DC motor by using Proportional, Integral, and Derivative (PID) controller has been studied and tested. The experimental set-up is done at Memorial University Laboratory to compare and validate the experimental and simulation results. The hydrogen gas was generated in+ separate stage in order to feed the fuel cell. All the components are built in MATLAB/Simulink to compare them with the real experiment. Two different speed readings (300 and 400 rpm) were taken to examine the behavior of the system in both simulation and experiments. The simulation and experiment results were well matched and illustrated.
