This paper is a comparative study which tends to compare two famous and popular Odes from two great poets of the rich literatures of Arabic and Persian. One of these two odes is A. Althamy's and the other belongs to Khaqani Shervani. These two poets have written these odes as a grieving for a lost child. The paper introduces the poets via providing a short summary of their personal and social status and further, introduces a comparative analysis on the aforementioned two odes. Afterwards, the two odes are compared in terms of meaning, concept, shape and method (fashion). It is also tried to technically explain the lexical and semantic similarities that exist between these two odes.
