Abstract
Influenced by various factors such as cultural background and mode of thinking, there are large semantic differences between English and Chinese, which often lead to cross-cultural information transfer errors and make learners feel disturbed. Exploring the semantic differences between English and Chinese from a cross-cultural perspective can help improve mutual understanding between different cultures, reduce cultural conflicts, and facilitate language learners' understanding and mastery of foreign languages. This article will briefly discuss the reasons for semantic differences, comparatively analyze the semantic differences between English and Chinese, and provide translation strategies in different scenarios in order to accurately convey the message.
