Abstract

Renewable energy production has been of prime importance in the last few decades. Solar energy is something which is available almost everywhere and can be harnessed for use at every level from Domestic to Large scale Industrial supply. As an outcome of advancement in the solar cell efficiencies, governments and other agencies have been promoting use of solar energy from the past many years. For the purpose, benefits in the form of subsidies and other tax rebates have been offered to consumers. In this paper a detailed analysis is done to calculate yearly benefit to a Punjab (State in India) based domestic consumer after installation of an Off-Grid Solar power plant at his premises keeping in view Punjab government policies and unit energy rates.
