Abstract

SummaryIn this chapter we looked at the evolution of data models and compared the object and relational data models. We looked at some of the difficulties involved in fitting object-oriented systems and relational databases together, and we looked at how some well-known database features are implemented in an object database. In the next chapter, we take a closer look at the object data model and how db4o stores its data.
