Abstract
The layer and the Born approximations are used to compute the change in impedance of a coil due to a volumetric flaw. Computational results are compared with experimental data found in the literature. It is shown that, in general, the layer approximation better fits the experimental points. However, the error depends on the other parameters of the problem.
