Abstract

Spin observables in the process \((\vec p,\vec p')\) are analyzed at intermediate energies in the range 100–500 MeV. Experimental and theoretical data are compared for the reaction \(^{12} C(\vec p,\vec p')^{12} C\) involving excitation of states 1+, T = 0 (12.71 MeV) and 1+, T = 1 (15.11 MeV). Two varieties of DWIA-type calculations are mainly used, allowing the role of isospin effects to be distinguished.
