Comparing Degree Coherence Across Disciplines and Countries

Abstract

This paper compares degree requirements across a sample of universities in the US and UK. It compares requirements for undergraduate degrees in Biology, Business, English, and Political Science. Each degree is analyzed according to the proportion of courses in the major, the proportion of required courses in the major, the proportion of required courses in the degree, the provision of research methods, and the provision of research projects.
