Abstract

Objective To investigate the different silicone oil removal effect between using vitrectomy instrument silicone oil injection-suction system and using trocar access the syringe. Methods Selected 120 cases (120 eyes) with good eye condition and retinal reattachment that could undergo the silicone oil removal surgery. Those patients were randomly divided into two groups, experimental group and control group according to the similar age, gender and silicone oil-filed time matched principles. The vitrectomy instrument silicone oil injection-suction system to removal the silicone oil was used in the control group. The trocar access the syringe to removal the silicone oil was used in the experimental group patients. The optometry, intraocular pressure,B-ultrasound,slit lamp, and the fundus examination one day after suffering the surgery were examined. The spot numbers of the two groups were compared using B-ultrasound.Results The B-ultrasound showed that:the spot number under 10 was one case, between 10 to 20 seven cases, between 20 to 30 forty-eight cases, between 30 to 50 four cases, greater than 50 zero case in control group; the spot number under 3 was one case, between 10 to 20 fifty-two cases, between 20 to 30 four cases, between 30 to 50 one case, greater than 50 zero case in experimental group. There were statistically significant differences between two groups using the two-sample chi-square test,x2=76.34,P <0.05.Conclusions The silicone oil removal effect of vitrectomy instrument is better than trocar interface the syringe.
