Abstract

The desired high electrical voltage shape quality of large salient-pole synchronous machines enforces a construction which avoids higher air gap flux density harmonics in various operational states. Thereby, the influences of the salient-pole contour and the slotted iron stator structure to the invoked harmonic spectrum of the no-load air gap flux density distribution are investigated with the aid of analytical as well as numerical methods
