Abstract

To develop tourism industries and enhance the economic vitalities of remote mountainous areas, China government have decided to cultivate diversity of tourist commodities by developing sustainable rural tourism, eco-travel, and ancient town attractions. In addition to improving the infrastructure in tourist attractions, the government will strive to preserve and utilize natural environment, historic cultural resources. In Japan, with rapidly ageing population and young people going to metropolises, the recessions of small towns have been exacerbated. So, promoting tourism is not only a national growth strategy, but also a tool for developing local economy. This paper uses a successful case for Japan to preserve and utilize the ancient Konpira Grand Theatre, analyzes how to exploit local cultural resource to develop tourism attractions, and gives exploitation suggestions for the Sichuan Qijian Ancient Stage.
