Abstract

In the present study, we have studied the structural and functional properties of Mn-site substituted manganites, with general formula Nd0.67Sr0.33Mn0.9TM0.1O3 (where TM = Co, Ni). The polycrystalline samples were synthesized using the conventional solid state reaction route. The phase purity of the samples is confirmed with the Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction data. The recorded diffraction pattern reveals that the samples crystallize in orthorhombic symmetry with Pbnm space group. The electrical transport properties of the samples were studied with the help of resistivity versus temperature graphs in the range of 100–300 K at 0 T and 5 T applied magnetic field. The metal–insulator transition temperature (TMI) is observed for both the samples, below which the metallic behavior dominates. The magneto-resistive behavior of both the samples is also studied with the variation of temperature at an applied field of 5 T.
