Abstract

Objective To compare the two kinds of video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS), and discuss the clinical value of two-port VATS in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases. Methods One hundred and sixteen cases with thoracic diseases were randomly divided into the two-port VATS group and the three-port VATS group, each group of 58 cases. The diseases included lung carcinoma, mediastinal tumor, atypical adenomatous hyperplasia and other lung benign disease etc. The clinical outcomes were compared between the two groups including operation time, chest drainage time, average postoperative hospitalization, intraoperative blood loss, drainage of the postoperative 24 hours, postoperative VAS value and postoperative complications. Results All the patients were successfully completed operation and no operative died. There were no significant differences in the operation time, chest drainage time, average postoperative hospitalization, intraoperative blood loss, drainage of the postoperative 24 hours, postoperative VAS value or postoperative complications between the two groups. Conclusions The same treatment effect by using two hole thoracoscopic surgery in diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases can reach three thoracoscopic surgery, it is worthy of clinical application.
