Abstract

The infrared absorption spectra of water in the water-dioxane and water-dimethylsulfoxide systems have been investigated in a wide range of concentrations. Absorption bands of differen: forms of water present in solution have been identified. The state of internal water in aqueous microregions in both systems is characterized by increased stability. It is proposed that the specific state of the internal water of microregions is the motive force of the microlayering process hindering its ransition into ordinary macrolayering. Consecutive microlayering stages at varying concentrations of the nonelectrolyte are considered. The behavior of protein molecules in different microlayering solverts has been studied.
