Abstract

A comparative analysis of difference in impedance spectra (ADIS) was performed for two SOFCs with different anode materials: CMO-YSZ and CMCuO-GDC, to determine the behavior of charge transfer and diffusive phenomena in both materials. This study showed a similar behavior for both materials, showing an increase of the diffusional limitations in the CMCuO-GDC anode with respect to the CMO-YSZ anode. The addition of copper reduced by 50% the total ohmic resistance of the cell with respect to the cell with CMO-YSZ anode, however, it was not possible to reduce the ASR value of the system. The maximum power densities obtained were 114 mW cm-2 and 120 mW cm-2 for the cells with CMO-YSZ and CuCMO-GDC anodes correspondingly, with CuCMO-GDC showing a slight increase in the electrocatalytic activity of the material.
