Abstract

In this modern world, the probability that you are surrounded by plastic is high. Plastic has its merits and demerits. After using the plastic best of its life and ability, it converted to plastic waste. Because of improper plastic waste management, this plastic waste creates problems for the environment and habitats of the earth like land pollution due to low degradability, health problems, chunking sewer lines, and waterways, etc. From this plastic waste, very little was recycled. On the opposite hand, because of urbanization, there was an enormous demand for concrete. We used reused plastic waste for concrete in process of finding alternative material for fine aggregate. In this paper, in place of Fine Aggregate we have used two Plastic Waste materials such as polyethylene terephthalate & polypropylene. Concrete of M30 grade had been used and Fine Aggregate is partially replaced by PET & PP within the ratios of 5,10,15,20 & 25. To check the allowable ratio of usage of polyethylene terephthalate & polypropylene for Conventional and Geopolymer concrete we should go through Workability & Compressive Strength Results. Results show that if the amount of Reused Plastic Waste goes high then Workability is reduced. In Conventional concrete the maximum ratio of replacement of Polyethylene Terephthalate is limited to 10% and Polypropylene showed less decrease in Compressive Strength at 5%. In Geopolymer concrete, PET and PP plastic gives more decrease in compressive strength at 10% only.
