Abstract

Compare investigate physicochemical properties of coarse powder and four ultrafine powders of compound Danshen, and then to determinate particle size distribution for ultrafine powders. Surface morphology, bulk density , repose angle, the content of ethanol-soluble extract and water-soluble extract of compound Danshen powders were investigated. The content of salvianolic acid B, tanshinone IIA, tanshinone I, cryptotanshinone, notoginsenoside R1,ginsenoside Rg1 and ginsenoside Rb1 in compound Danshen powders were determined by HPLC. The results indicated that powder particle size decreased gradually with the extension of grinding time and finally into balance, but time was too long would make ultrafine powder easily gathered. Powder property results showed that ultrafine powders were worse liquidity and wettability. The contents in ultrafine powder D90≥38μm were increased with the decrease of the particle size, but when the particle size continued to decrease, the content would decline. Particle size of compond Danshen ultrafine powder should be controlled about 38 μm.
