Abstract

Induction motor is basically a constant speed motor in which the change in speed is negligible. Speed control of induction motor can be achieved by several control techniques. In this paper design of closed loop speed controlled three phase Induction motor fed from the voltage source inverter with Fixed hysteresis band current controlled (FHBCC) technique and adaptive hysteresis band current controlled (AHBCC) technique is implemented. Comparative study of FHBCC and AHBCC, under various voltage ranges and different load conditions based on total harmonic distortion, settling time, and peak time are described. Hysteresis controller gives quick response and it is highly reliable. MATLAB/Simulink software is used to simulate the proposed techniques. The simulation results for these techniques shows that harmonics are less in adaptive hysteresis band current controlled technique.
