Abstract

The purposes of this article were to investigate the influences of synthetic strategy on the CuO crystals using cellulose as substrate. Exploring the influences of different synthesis methods is of great importance for the understanding of the growth mechanism of CuO crystals. In this article, the products were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), and cell cytotoxicity. Experimental results demonstrated the obvious differences in the CuO crystals between microwave-assisted hydrothermal and hydrothermal methods in the existence of cellulose. These researches do a favor for the understanding of growth mechanism of CuO crystals with different synthesis methods.
