Abstract

In this paper two main experimental configurations applied in the piezoelectric photothermal (PPT) spectroscopy are compared: the front and rear ones. It turned out after several model computations that the front configuration provides two times higher piezoelectric signal, it is characterized by much higher linearity of the signal versus absorption coefficient, similar amplitude and phase characteristics. It is much convenient in photoacoustic spectroscopy method and in the field of thermal characterization of materials. Two possible solutions of practical front configurations are proposed.
