Abstract

Abstract This study dealt with boys ages 10 to 12. Half played Little League Baseball in 1954. The others, equated by age and grade, did not. Three measurement instruments were administered prior and subsequent to the season. T ratios were computed for differences between groups and between measurement periods. There was little difference in the number of problems expressed by the groups. The participants scored slightly higher each time on personality traits. Likewise, they received significantly higher social acceptance ratings from their peers each time. Changes during the study were inconclusive as to any effects of participation.
