Abstract

A comparative study of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with fractional slot concentrated winding and external rotor, for wind energy applications, having 18 stator teeth and different number of pole pairs (between 6 and 12) is presented in this paper. Finite element method simulations are performed for no load and different loads operation, results are analyzed and compared, and conclusions are formulated.
