Abstract
Introduction: Oral health education aims to inform and develop, among the population, a hygienic, sanogenic behavior, in order to maintain general health, oral health, harmonious development and strengthening of the body, its adaptation to the environmental conditions. Aim of the study: to comparatively evaluate the effectiveness of interactive methods of oral health education in groups organized by children. Material and methods. The clinical data of this study is based on the examination of 164 children aged 12. Depending on the oral health education methods applied, the children were divided into 2 groups. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the applied oral health education methods, questionnaires were developed, which the children completed individually until and after ending the educational program. Results. As a result of the implementation of interactive methods to promote oral health, children’s hygiene knowledge was completed. The level of motivation in self-care of the oral cavity increased and the state of oral hygiene improved. Moreover, the average value of the Oral Hygiene index decreased by 0.52 points.Conclusion. Interactive oral health education methods have a positive impact on children’s awareness of good oral hygiene practices.
