Abstract
The growth-promoting effects of STH and parotin were studied under feedingwith fluid diet.STH stimulated effectively the body growth in hypophysectomizedand sialoadenectomized immature rats.Smaller and larger doses of parotin couldnot promote the body growth in hypophysectomized and/or sialoadenectomizedanimals.Moreover, as the extirpation of salivary glands did not arrest the normalgrowth in growing rats, it would be said that the salivary glands do not participatein the body growth, directly.
