Abstract

AbstractAgreement was obtained between the bentonite flocculation test (BFT) and the sensitized sheep cell agglutination test (SCAT) in 96 per cent of a random population sample and in 88 per cent of a clinical sample. Rarely, positive results were obtained in either test alone. The BFT was more often positive than the SCAT both in rheumatoid arthritis and in other syndromes.
