Abstract

Late gadolinium enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (LGE-CMR) is the most accurate non-invasive method for assessing myocardial scar. Although various studies have demonstrated that myocardial scar quantification predicts occurrence of ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, there is no uniform method for myocardial scar quantification. We sought to compare the predictive value of different scar quantification methods for appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) shock and mortality.
