Abstract

Objective To evaluate the central corneal thickness values in myope with the new Topcon SP2000P noncontact specular microscopy and ultrasonic pachymetry. Methods Central corneal thickness was measured in 79 eyes of 79 patients first with a noncontact specular microscopy(Topeon SP2OOOP),Paired t test linear regression analysis and linear relation analysis were used to analysis the measured values in the two group. Results The mean central corneal thickness measured by noncontact specular microscopy or ultrasonic pachymetry was(532.91 24.44)μm and(541.10 26.65)μm(t=6.062,P<0.001)with a significantly positive relationship(r=0.893,P<0.001).Conclusions The difference of the two apparatus in the measurements of the corneal thickness should be considered and accurately evaluated. Key words: Central corneal thickenss; Noncontact specular microscopy; Ultrasonic pachymetry
