Abstract
Comparative Investigation of the Effect of Treatment Methods on Bacterial Population of Surface Water in Ado Ekiti Country
Highlights
The most important natural resource globally is water and a high priority issue for the quality of human existence is the availability of clean and safe drinking water [1] closely followed by appropriate vaccination coverage [2,3]
Access to safe drinking water can be estimated by the percentage of the population using improved drinking water sources
The total bacterial counts and total coliform counts decreased by 81% and 95% respectively within 6 hours after exposure to solar radiation
Summary
The most important natural resource globally is water and a high priority issue for the quality of human existence is the availability of clean and safe drinking water [1] closely followed by appropriate vaccination coverage [2,3]. Access to safe drinking water can be estimated by the percentage of the population using improved drinking water sources. Of rural populations depend mainly on untreated streams, ponds and well water for drinking and daily activities (e.g. food preparations, bathing, laundry, etc.).
